Candy Jernigan lived and worked in New York (d. 1991). Solo exhibitions include Greene Naftali, New York (2019, 2014); Commercial Street, Provincetown (2019); CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, San Francisco (2017); Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Provincetown, Massachusetts (2002); New Arts Program, Kutztown, Pennsylvania (1990); Dance Theater Workshop, New York (1989, 1985); and Lumen Travo, Amsterdam (1985). Her work has been featured in significant group exhibitions at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2015); the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago (2012); and White Columns, New York (2010), among others. Jernigan’s work is in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, and the Weatherspoon Art Museum, Greensboro, North Carolina.
