SMK – Statens Museum for Kunst
1307 København K
In this artist's talk, Haegue Yang will speak in depth about her current solo exhibition at SMK. Spread over four different parts of the museum, Double Soul presents Yang’s highly original and sensuous works from 1994 to the present day. The exhibition includes a specially commissioned sculptural ensemble in two parts, inspired by Pia Arke and Sonja Ferlov Mancoba, two artists represented in the SMK collection.
In conversation with curator Marianne Torp, Yang will discuss her multisensory ensemble, consisting of a rotating blind installation, rattling bells, and the scents of gunpowder and wild flowers. The conversation will offer insight into the artworks as Yang reveals the extensive thought, research, and labor that contributed to the present exhibition.
