Published on the occasion of Diamond Stingily's debut exhibition at Greene Naftali, Sand was written largely during a summer residency in Paris. Diaristic in nature, Stingily’s writing also draws from the many books she read during this challenging summer: works by Colette Thomas, Clarice Lispector, and Gayl Jones, among others.
