John Knight (b. 1945) lives in Los Angeles and works in situ. His work is currently on view at Greene Naftali (through April 29, 2023). Recent solo exhibitions include Cabinet, London (2022); The Intermission, Piraeus, Greece (2019); Ordet, Milan (2019); CCA Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan (2019); Établissement d’en face, Brussels (2018); the Cultuurcentrum, Strombeek, Belgium (2017); REDCAT, Los Angeles (2016); Greene Naftali, New York (2015, 2011); Art Institute of Chicago (2015); Cabinet Gallery at Fitzpatrick-Leland House, Los Angeles (2014); and Portikus, Frankfurt (2013).

His public artworks have been installed at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (2010); Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart, Berlin (2008); Storm King Art Center, Mountainville, New York (1998); The Hague’s Center for Visual Arts, The Hague, Netherlands (1991); FRAC Centre, Orléans, France (1990); and FRAC Rhône-Alpes, Lyon, France (1989). Select public collections include the Art Institute of Chicago; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; and the Museum der Moderne Salzburg.
