John Knight (b. 1945) lives in Los Angeles and works in situ. A solo exhibition of his work is now on view at the Art Institute of Chicago through September 22. His public artworks have been installed at Bonner Kunstverein, Bonn, Germany (2021); Sculpture Garden – Geneva Biennale (2020); Skulptur Projekte Münster, Germany (2017); Whitney Biennial, New York (2012); The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (2010); Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart, Berlin (2008); Storm King Art Center, Mountainville, New York (1998); The Hague’s Center for Visual Arts, The Hague, Netherlands (1991); FRAC Centre, Orléans, France (1990); and FRAC Rhône-Alpes, Lyon, France (1989). Selected public collections include Art Institute of Chicago; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; and the Museum der Moderne Salzburg.
