The group exhibition Head for the Hills! focuses on new acquisitions within the Hammer's collection, with work by both Los Angeles-based and international artists in a broad range of mediums. Borrowing its title from a 1974 work by the artist John Knight—(Untitled, 1974): a slideshow of advertising texts extracted from the real estate supplement in the Los Angeles Times—this exhibition highlights artworks that use the local, personal, and banal to tap into the universal.
