ARIA DEAN in Material Evidence
June 18 – November 16, 2025

Serralves Museum
Porto, Portugal

Curated by Philippe Vergne, Museum Director
Coordinated by Filipa Loureiro, Temporary Exhibitions Coordinator

A survey of recent sculpture and video by ARIA DEAN is included in Material Evidence, a group exhibition at Serralves Museum in Porto, Portugal.

Featuring a rigorous selection of work by Dean, Cameron Rowland, Hugo Flores and Paulo Mariz, Nour Mobarak, P. Staff, Sara Deraedt, and Tarik Kiswanson, the exhibition brings together artists from various cultural contexts and geographies who explore materiality as a means of examining history, identity, and social construction. Through sculpture, painting, film, and installation, they reflect on how objects carry personal and collective histories—probing memory, entropy, estrangement, the granularity of information, and the aggregation of identities, while reevaluating how knowledge is formed, stored, and unsettled through material means.
