"Two clusters of flailing anthropomorphic figures fueled by fans belong to the ongoing series Breathers by Paul Chan. The sculptures emerged from the artist’s need to 'take a breather' from time spent in front of screens, both as a producer and a viewer of video. Chan then developed these inflatable kinetic sculptures as a different way of making moving images. The featured works are new iterations, shown here for the first time: a group with the title Too Phantasia 4 and a wall-mounted sculpture, Hex 3 (after Pseudo-Dionysius) (both 2024)."
