Women in Print brings together eight women artists, each bringing their own distinctive approach to the medium. The project celebrates the enduring importance of fine art prints, their place in the history of collecting and their continuing relevance today. With a 1/3 of net proceeds benefiting Tate – the project will provide vital funds to support Tate’s work.

SOPHIE VON HELLERMANN's lithograph Main Sands revisits the familiar landscape of her home town Margate, imagining the artist as a free spirit on the beach enveloped by a vibrant sunset sky. Lithography offers a natural extension of her painting practice, capturing the fluidity of her brushwork and the subtle variations of color and tone. Working across four successive layers of lithographic color, she then returned to the printed image by hand, adding the luminous sunset sky that lends the scene its almost spiritual quality.
