The Game: Round Two
December 5, 2026 – February 14, 2026

The American Academy of Arts & Letters, New York has invited MONIKA BAER as the second "player" of its four-installment exhibition, The Game. The exhibition of the first player, Christopher Williams, is on view from September 26 through November 29, 2026. Responding directly to Williams' exhibition, Baer must leave at least two objects in place and add at least two objects to the gallery. The subsequent artists, ARIA DEAN and Abraham Cruzvillegas, continue with these "rules of play," accumulating or negating previous moves in a structure resembling something like the Surrealist exercise of the exquisite corpse.
