TONY COKES in the 30th Annual Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions
Tokyo Photographic Museum
Yebisu Garden Place, Tokyo
Jan 31–Feb 16, 2025
In a dynamic installation across the Yebisu Garden Place, a commercial and cultural complex in the heart of Tokyo’s Ebisu district, Tony Cokes will present works The Queen is Dead Fragment 1 and 2 (2019), Free Britney? (2022), and Evil.66.2 (DT.sketch.2.7) (2016) as part of the international festival at the Tokyo Photographic Museum. Expanding outside the institution, Cokes will install a series of banners based on stills from his moving image work The Queen is Dead Fragment 1 along the Ebisu subway station skywalk, leading visitors to the central museum plaza.
